Frequently asked questions
Do I need a referral to see a physiotherapist?
No, you don’t need a doctor’s referral to book an appointment with us. However, if you’re claiming through Medicare (EPC/CDM) or DVA a plan, you’ll need a valid referral from your GP.
Do you accept private health insurance?
Yes. We have HICAPS available for on-the-spot claiming with most major health funds. Please check with your fund regarding your physiotherapy cover and limits.
How do I book an appointment?
You can book online, call our reception on (02) 5505 4994, or email admin@physiocollective.com.au.
What is your cancellation policy?
We ask for at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment.
Cancellation/Reschedules within 48hrs will incur a 50% fee.
Missed or on the day cancellations/reschedules incur a 100% fee.
Note: booking for Mondays will need to be cancelled via email to avoid cancellation fee by Saturday.
Are children allowed to attend?
Yes! We welcome babies and children in our practice — we understand that family life is busy and sometimes little ones need to come along.
Please note, our clinic does house a range of specialised and expensive equipment, so if your child is walking or active, we kindly ask that you bring a toy, book, or tablet to help keep them occupied.
We simply ask that parents or carers remain mindful and supervise children at all times to keep everyone safe.
Do you offer internal pelvic floor examinations?
Yes — with your informed consent, our physiotherapists may perform internal pelvic floor examinations when clinically appropriate. However they aren’t necessary - we do have other ways to assess via external examination or real time ultrasound.
You can choose to decline or stop the examination at any time.
Can I attend my appointment if I have my period?
Yes, absolutely! You’re very welcome to attend your appointment while on your period.
Our physiotherapists are highly experienced and understand that menstruation is a normal part of life.
How is my privacy protected?
